Can the processor for this netbook be upgraded? It’s a bit slow and I am the type that want to be able to use it for hardcore game programming and for linear video editing. Does anyone know? Thanks.

what is the difference between the lt2005u and the lt2022u? is it because the 2005 has a genuine windows 7 starter?

I bought an external cd/dvd drive to watch movies while in the hospital. It uses two usb ports. I have one usb available. Can you reccommend external speakers? I don’t have much dough and these speakers aren’t very loud. Thank you.

Hello James, Actually I have been told by Gateway people that this model can NOT be upgraded to 2G RAM. I just want to make sure you did and it works just fine, thanks.

@Gster, you’re right – that actually isn’t the wlan/wwan slot necessarily, it’s just an empty mini pci-slot. There are no antenna cables there, so you couldn’t actually add a wireless/wlan card in there (at least, not without some serious modding by adding antenna wires).

This netbook is available with Verizon WWAN card (if you buy it through them), in which case, I believe it would actually have the wwan card and antennas.

I don’t think you can upgrade the WLAN card. The PCI-e slot is open, but there are no antenna cables for an upgrade card. I believe the WLAN is integrated into the motherboard, and they leave you the pci-e slot empty in case you want to use an SSD. Can anyone else confirm this is the case? I mean, I KNOW the PCI-e slot is empty, but can someone confirm that WLAN is integrated and not upgradeable?

can i boot it off a usb linux ubuntu?

or usb stick?

does it come configured with one partition or two?
